Katey Sagal Joins Pitch Perfect 2 as Hailee Steinfeld’s Mom, Rebel Wilson Shares “Team Bellas” Pic!

Katey Sagal

Pitch Perfect 2 has quite the cast!

Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow are all returning, of course, as is Elizabeth Banks, who’s also directing the sequel. Hailee Steinfeld will be joining the musical ranks of the Bardem Bellas, and earlier this week, Sons of Anarchy star Katey Sagal was confirmed as part of the cast, too!

Per TV Guide, Katey will play Hailee’s mom in the flick. The 17-year-old Oscar nominee is clearly excited for the film, tweeting a reminder thursday that “Pitch Perfect 2 comes out in 365 days. So yes, the countdown begins now.”

Rebel tweeted a picture of “Team Bellas,” the same day, reminding co-star and director Elizabeth “only 364 sleeps” until the movie’s May 5, 2015 release.

Before that, though, they’ve still got a lot of work to do—especially Elizabeth, who is very involved in the sequel. “I’m really excited to direct the girls,” she told the Huffington Post. “The whole project speaks so much to me and to women and to making women funny in really fun and interesting ways and that’s what I’m most looking forward to. I’m looking forward to letting the girls let loose.”

And earlier this week, Sons of Anarchy star Katey Sagal was confirmed as part of the cast, too!

Blake Lively in Chanel Gown at Cannes Film Festival 2014: See the Waist-Whittling Dress!

Blake Lively in Chanel Gown at Cannes Film Festival 2014: See the Waist-Whittling Dress!

Okay, Blake, we get it: You’re a goddess.

The day after owning the red carpet at the opening ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival, Blake Lively lightened her look in a waist-whittling Chanel gown on May 15 for the Mr. Turner premiere.

The pastel-sequined dress highlighted the Gossip Girl alum’s curves in all the right ways. The plunging neckline showcased her decolletage while the illusion bodice made her waist appear incredibly skinny.

Lively, 26, completed the style with Sophia Webster “Etta” pumps and a mint green wrap.

The L’Oreal Paris ambassador kept her makeup simple and natural with lots of lashes and a bright pink lip color. Unlike her previous night’s braided updo, she wore her long blonde hair down in voluminous waves.

Beyoncé Breaks Her Silence on the Elevator Incident

Beyoncé Breaks Her Silence on the Elevator Incident

Beyoncé has made her first public statement since the leaked elevator security footage of husband and sister fighting came out this week. This is also the first that has been heard from Solange and Jay Z, as the family trio issued this joint statement to The Associated Press:
Beyoncé Breaks Her Silence on the Elevator Inciden …

“As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it.

Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.

The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.”

Hopefully, this will put to rest rumors coming from the #SolangeTruther camp, as well as wild speculation that Beyoncé and Jay Z were separating. They are still Drunk in Love, and all is well with the universe.

Woman, 34, Acts Like 15-Year-Old Orphan, Goes To School And Gets A Guardian

16 May, 2014

A 34-year-old woman from Texas, USA, Charity Johnson, pretended to be a 15-year-old orphan to enroll into an orphan school.

She also got a guardian, a woman of 30 who believed that Charity she lost both her parents and her father abused her when she was a child.

This news shocked the whole school as not even her new friends realized that she was not the person she appeared.

Her real name is Charity Ann Johnson while she told everyone she was Charity Stevens. She was arrested after having studied for over 6 month in an orphan school.

She enrolled to New Life Christian School in October, and when she was signing the papers she was accompanied with a guardian.

Tamica Lincoln

Tamica Lincoln, her guardian, told the KLTV station that they met while they both worked at local McDonalds. Charity told her that she was 15, that she was abused by her father when she was young and that both of her parents were dead. She told Lincoln that she had no place to stay.

Lincoln felt for her, and invited this ‘child’ to live in her home. She even made her hair and attended parents meetings at her school where they discussed her performance. ‘She acted like a kid. She did her homework. She got good report cards,’ Lincoln told ABC News.

Lincoln began suspecting something when she got a call from a group that helps children in need, they told her that Charity tried to enroll there. The head of the group told Lincoln that they performed a background check on her and revealed no information they needed.

When guardian herself tried to find information on the girl, she called the manager at McDonald’s where they worked together and found out that Charity’s real last name was Johnson and that she was in fact 34.

Lincoln together with the mentor at the orphan school called the police before they both went to the school.

‘Teachers were crying and students were crying, and her best friend just couldn’t believe it,’ Lincoln recalls.

When asked to identify herself to the police the woman gave them her fake name. She now remains in Gregg County Jail charged with failure to identify/giving false information.

Charity has accounts in social media under nickname Charite where she posted lots of photos of herself looking just like a teenager.

Boko Haram leader Shekau is dead say Nigeria officials, as nation rolls its eyes

Boko Haram leader Shekau is dead say Nigeria officials, as nation rolls its eyes

14-05-2014

Three weeks after hundreds of teenage girls were abducted while taking exams, it remains unclear how many girls were taken, who they are, who did it, at what time, and exactly how.

On the same day that a man looking nearly identical to Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau released a video of 100 girls kidnapped by his group – the official Nigerian response in the nation’s capital was to claim that Mr. Shekau is dead.

Actually, the government’s position is that Shekau has been dead for some time – a position widely seen here as a form of counter-propaganda designed to dispirit Boko Haram members.

“Boko Haram is a franchise,” Nigerian security spokesperson Marilyn Ogar told a room of local and foreign reporters here for the kidnapping story and who sought details about the video and its call to trade the girls for Boko Haram prisoners. “Anybody can assume any name. The person that is the National Leader of Boko Haram has just adopted the name Abubakar Shekau.”

Nigerian authorities also said today that its security forces are “interacting with experts … all over the world” to find the girls. Yet they remained unable to say how many girls were missing: “The federal government is setting up a committee” to find out the number, said one official in Abuja, Mike Omeri.

Such lack of information a month into the kidnapping of the girls as they were taking exams, combined with claims of Shekau’s death – viewed with skepticism – have fanned indignation at the government and brought ongoing protests.

Indeed, the story of the kidnapping of more than 200 Nigerian schoolgirls in mid-April continues to horrify the world. For all the urgent headlines and advocacy, however, what is still missing are basic facts. It is unclear how many girls were abducted, who they are, who did it, at what time, and exactly how – a dearth of solid information that has deepened the distress and anger in Nigeria and spurred global calls for action.

For starters, the number of girls taken away by the self-described Islamist radical Boko Haram and later rescued keeps changing.  First it was 129 girls rescued.  Then 121 were rescued and 8 were missing.  The next day, none had been rescued at all. No collective set of photos of the girls appears to exist, or even all their names (some websites with photos of the girls have used photos lifted from elsewhere).

A week ago, police stated that 276 girls remain missing and 53 escaped on their own accord.  This number could change again, according to the police commissioner of Borno State in the northeast, which is the heart of the Boko Haram insurgency.

“It is really difficult to say the actual number of girls that were abducted,” said Commissioner Tanko Lawan. He says the numbers are hard to compile since  students from many schools were taking their exams at the Chibok school “due to the peculiar security challenges in Borno State,” he said.

Nor is much known about how hundreds of girls were taken and when. One newspaper quoted escaped girls that said the attack took place at dawn. In others, girls said it was at 11 p.m.  Amnesty International says the attack took place at “in the small hours of 15 April,” after a gun battle with local security forces. That report only came yesterday, May 9.

“I think there’s a bit of insincerity in the system,” said Ade Ogundeyin, the CEO of Proforce, a Nigerian security company.  “You can’t tell me that 200 and something girls got move to a particular location and nobody [from the military] saw them?  It’s a confusing situation.”

Which leads to the next unknown: Why was this school opened for exams, given the deep insecurity in the area?

Again, government and local officials and newspapers have given conflicting accounts. The slaughter of many school children in the northeast, reported for nearly a year, had prompted most schools in the northeast to close.  Mausi Segun of Human Rights Watch suggests that education authorities may have decided to open this one school so that girls from a number of schools in the area could take their final exams and later have a better chance at “employment … in cities like Lagos.” Yet such an opening would have been a widely known event, making the school a potential target.

Perhaps most frustrating for Nigerians is the absence of information on rescue efforts. Few facts are forthcoming, and the Nigerian military maintains it would compromise their efforts if they reported details to the public.

But Nigerians want an explanation, for example, as to why local people say they have seen the girls traveling in the countryside – and this under the extreme crackdown known as emergency rule – but that the military has not given details nor staged a rescue.

It is widely believed that Boko Haram is responsible for the kidnapping because no other group in Nigeria has the capacity or the motivation to carry out such an attack. The group has killed thousands of adults and children and has previously abducted women to work as porters, spies, cooks, or sex slaves.

Boko Haram has also taken responsibility for the kidnapping, saying the girls are being held as slaves and will be sold as wives. In a video distributed to reporters on Monday, a maniacal-appearing Boko Harm leader, Abubakar Shekau, rails against the government and threatens to force girls as young as nine years old to marry.

In the video, however, there are no girls. That in itself is somewhat unorthodox: In the past, terrorists showed images of hostages to prove the truth of their claims.

Why Mr. Shekau waited three weeks to claim the act is unclear, though some speculate that Boko Haram is so unstructured and diffuse that he may not have known which faction was responsible. And the only hard evidence that Abubakar Shekau is even the leader of Boko Haram is that he says so.  This is a man who threatened to kill former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher from his hideout in northeastern Nigeria more than six months after she died.

But one further fact is not in dispute: With every day that passes without the return of the girls, the fear for their lives becomes greater, and the despair in Nigeria is palpable. Frustration was deepened by a report that the military did not respond to warnings that Boko Haram was about to attack Chibok.

At a protest this week in the capital, Abubakar Sani, a civil servant and a father, sat quietly on the sidelines while the crowd sang: “All we are saying is ‘Bring back our girls. Alive. Now.”

“It’s something that can happen to anybody,” said Sani. “It’s necessary that we come out and demonstrate so the government will know how we feel

Nearly 300 Nigerian high school girls still remain missing after they were brutally kidnapped by extremists last month. Many reports indicate these young women were sold to be brides for as little as $12.

Concern has swelled on social media around the world, and the phrase #BringBackOurGirls, the hashtag for the campaign to rescue the girls, has been tweeted over a million times. The outrage at the girls’ kidnapping and violence of human trafficking has spurred regular people to find more information on how to help, hoping to prevent tragedies like this in the future.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Take to social media

“The campaign has helped to galvanize action within the country and has raised tremendous international media attention,” the Human Rights Watch said in an email to ABC News. The hashtag #BringBackOurGirls has “fast became the symbol of the people’s anger and frustration for the perceived ineffectual handling of the situation by the government.” UNICEF is encouraging people to continue using the hashtag in order to gain more media and government attention on the present kidnapping, and then to get involved in their End Trafficking project to help put a stop to human trafficking.

WTF Alert: Miley Cyrus’s Health Scare Worsens

Yikes! Miley Cyrus’s health scare just keeps getting worse and worse. The pop star has been hospitalized all week, and now has to cancel more shows. Devastated to be missing dates on her Bangerz tour, Miley tweeted on Thursday, “Can’t quit crying.  i wanna go back on tour. im meant to be onstage performing for y’all…. not laying in a hospital bed.”

As I reported earlier, Miley was hospitalized after an allergic reaction to medication, forcing the pop star to cancel shows in Kansas City and St. Louis. In an official statement that Miley tweeted on Thursday, it looks like her recovery is going to be much longer than initially expected. The statement read:

Miley Cyrus was suffering from a sinus infection during her tour. She was prescribed the antibiotic Cephalexin which shes (sic) now suffered an extreme reaction to. This type of extreme reaction can last from five to 27 days in these types of cases. She will remain hospitalized and is under a doctor’s care until we see some improvement in her condition and is asking for your compassion and privacy at this time. Miley is devastated about missing shows and possibly disappointing her fans.

Miley’s people are in the process of rescheduling her shows, and the pop star has been tweeting updates to her fan from her hospital bed. She has also, of course, been posting late night selfies, though they are more hospital bed and less party than her typical Instagrams.

My minions and I are hoping for your fast recovery, Miley. Take a break from tweeting, doll, and get some rest!

*Update: Despite making a scene on twitter about her health issues, Miley is now slamming the media for their concern and well wishes. “Shut the [insert profanity] up & let me heal. stop scaring my family, friends, & fans. OFFICIAL STATEMENT,” she blasted on Thursday, April 17.

News flash, Miley. We all want you to get better (if anything, to stop seeing photos of you in that drab hospital gown), but stop moaning and groaning about your sick day on a public network….and then complaining when your fans draw conclusions. Just a little advice from me to you…

The 5 Most Revealing Moments From Kim and Kanye’s Controversial Vogue Interview

The 5 Most Revealing Moments From Kim and Kanye’s Controversial Vogue Interview

Yahoo celebrity

Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, and baby North pose for Vogue (Annie Leibovitz for Vogue)

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s Vogue cover has been a hot topic of debate this week; so much so, that many may forget an actual interview with the couple lays at the center of the fashion bible.

From London, to L.A., to Paris, here are five of the most eye-opening moments from the duo’s jet-setting sit down (whether you are fuming or celebrating the controversial cover, there is something for everyone):

1. Kim Has Purposefully Dodged the Paparazzi Before (No… Really!)

Camera shy isn’t a term you generally associate with Kim,  but contrary to popular opinion, even she wants to stay away from the shutterbugs at times.

The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star recounts a story about how she evaded the paps in London by meeting a friend at Selfridges and switching cars.

“I’ve always been fine with it,” Kim says about being in the public eye. “I think only when I got pregnant did I start to have a problem because they were so nasty to me — the things they would say. I’ve never really recovered. And they still say crazy things when I’m with my daughter and make it a scary situation. When you’re young and you’re riding around L.A. with your friends it’s fun and exciting, but now I’m in my 30s and don’t really care to go out and be seen or impress anybody.”

2. Kimye Wants an “Intimate” and “Massive” Wedding at the Same Time

Nothing new here: Kim and Kanye are still claiming they want a small wedding.

“People are probably assuming we’re going to have this massive wedding,” says Kim, “and I think that it will be —  but intimate. Two hundred people — just all of our closest friends —  a special night for us and all the people that really love us and that have supported us.”

As for the “massive” part, that would include multiple costume changes for Kim at a crazy location … like the Louvre, or Versaiiles, or both.

“We could get the Hall of Mirrors or something,” says Kanye. “We could turn up.”

Interesting since members of Kimye’s team kept insisting those Versailles rumors not to be true. But there you go, straight from the groom!

3. Kanye Started Courting Kim Via Fashion Six Years Ago
Kanye pursued Kim hard for years (that has never been a secret), but the article sheds light on when the rapper made a move. It’s a minor detail, but the writer notes that Kim is wearing a pair of Margiela boots that West bought her in 2008.

“I was like, ‘What’s Margiela?’ back then,” Kim said.

And the rest of Kim’s style transformation is history.

4. Kim Has a Walk-In House for Her Clothes, Not Closet
Please… you thought walk-in closets were luxurious? Not for Kimye. West’s house has been deemed by the couple to have “no privacy and no space,” so they decided to put it to better use: housing Kim’s wardrobe.

“We use the whole bottom floor for storage,” says Kim.

“We have a ‘walk in’ house!” Kanye jokes.

Kim and Kanye are still living at Kris Jenner’s while they renovate their Bel Air mansion. Breathe easy knowing Kardashian’s clothes have enough space in the meantime.

5. Just Call Kanye Mr. Romantic
West is no stranger to making some bold, eccentric statements (and then getting skewered for them), but he can make some romantic ones too.

“I’m really into fantasy, as you know. I’m obsessed with Walt Disney and Tim Burton and Hayao Miyazaki. Kim is like a fantasy, period,” he says. “She’s like a dream girl. And I think a dream girl should live in a dream world.”

Kim clearly doesn’t disagree.

“I do live in a dream world,” adds the reality star. “The fact that I’m waking up tomorrow, shooting for Vogue. I get to play dress-up every single day of my life, have my dream fiancé, my dream baby, you know?”
